Because Rhode Island policies on
renewable energy lag behind other states in the region, it is losing out on business from the installation of wind turbines, solar-energy systems and the like, industry representatives told a special legislative task force on Wednesday.
State grants and federal stimulus money have helped, but they have failed to create a sustainable industry in Rhode Island.
